Grading Training
We attended our Swiss Grading Training in September 2023 along with an international group of Valais enthusiasts.
We had 3 days of intense training on breed standard and the grading system we then we had to apply our skills at the end of the week by grading with the experts at one of the local grading events. It’s was truly an amazing and hugely educational experience and I’m proud to be a qualified Swiss grader. Along with this we had another 3 days with the wonderful Zimmermann flock seeing just how the shepherds prepare and work with their valais. We had a trip across the mountain to see the Mund valais breeder and where delighted to see such beautiful sheep.
This was the trip of a lifetime and definitely one checked off the bucket list!! The knowledge and the expertise I have gained will help me immensely improve and grow my our flock to new exciting levels and I hope to do the Swiss proud with all I have learned. We all met and made wonderful new friends and Swiss connections for life and if I learned anything it’s that sometimes you just have to sit back look around appreciate the opportunity’s and wonderful thing in life, chill out and have a beer whilst sitting with friends in Switzerland I really got to take stock of just how wonderful this experience was and how amazing my life and future with this breed truly is!!
